The First Maritime School in the Philippines accredited by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) of Norway
John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation is proud to be accredited by the Det Norske Veritas (DNV). JBLCF holds the pride of being the first to be accredited in the Philippines, second in Southeast Asia, and third in the world. From 1997 to the present, JBLCF has maintained and even improved with its accreditation.

A memorandum was passed by CHED recognizing John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation - Bacolod as among the first maritime schools in the country to have complied and passed the requirements of the STCW '95, hence, the school was recommended to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for inclusion in the White List.

The Commission on Higher Education had included the three JBLCF campuses viz., Bacolod, Arevalo and Molo among the eleven IMO-Compliant schools in the country. The list of eleven schools was submitted by CHED to the IMO thus, paved the way for the Philippines' inclusion in the IMO White List together with 71 countries during the Maritime Safety Committee 73rd Session held in November 27 - December 6, 2000.
